PINNED
by ANTHEA FREYA HILL
Le Pavé d’Orsay | June 2025
Set against the backdrop of contemporary Paris, Pinned is a bilingual, intimate story that delves into the complexities of love, identity, and the search for belonging. Claire, a young New Zealand academic in Paris, finds herself struggling with isolation in the city. When she meets Léo, a disillusioned Parisian cellist caught between her artistic dreams and the difficult realities of life, the two women form a bond that challenges them both to confront who they are and what they want from their futures.
As Claire’s academic career in New Zealand beckons, and Léo begins to rediscover her artistic voice, Pinned explores the delicate balance between ambition and connection, and the vital role community plays in shaping our identities. A poignant and thought-provoking exploration of how love can be both a catalyst for change and a reminder that we must first be whole within ourselves.
